Liverpool's Brazilian play-maker Philippe Coutinho is hoping to return to the first-team side in the coming weeks after a successful shoulder operation.
The former Inter Milan attacker has proven to be an important player in Brendan Rodgers' side both this season and last season, and following his return from injury, he is hoping to return to the side.
Speaking to Globo Esporte, Coutinho said: "It's annoying to get injured, especially when you are playing well, but that happens. I now want to focus on my recovery and do everything right to be back as soon as possible to help Liverpool in the league."
Coutinho made 15 appearances for Rodgers' side last season, and Liverpool have missed the creative midfielder in the last week. Liverpool had been flying in the league, but were given a reality check by Southampton last week, losing 1-0 at Anfield to Mauricio Pochettino's side.
Coutinho has since set his sights on the Brazilian national team following his imminent return from injury.
"The surgery was a success and this is what matters the most. I'll be back soon."
"I dream of getting called up again for the national team, but it's only up to me. Of course it's bad when you get injured in a moment like this, but this is football.
I have had a set-back and my concern is being fully ready as soon as possible. If I play well, things will happen naturally," he added.
Liverpool will be hoping their star man return to the side quickly after they lost their first Premier League game of the season against Southampton last weekend.
The Reds will face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the League Cup tomorrow evening.
