Manchester United academy boss Nicky Butt thinks new signing Saidy Janko has 'massive potential'.
Speaking to manutd.com, Butt admitted he doesn't know when Janko will be available for selection as the club continues to wait for international clearance.
But he thinks the Switzerland under-19 full-back could be a future Old Trafford star after closely scouting him alongside Warren Joyce.
"He's not available at the minute because we're waiting for international clearance," said Butt. "It could take time - weeks or months - we're not sure yet.
"The important thing with Saidy was getting him signed up and having him in training to get his fitness up and his potential out there because he has got massive potential."
The 17-year-old right-back impressed Butt and Joyce when playing against United in the Blue Stars FIFA Youth Cup in May this year.
Janko helped his FC Zurich side win the tournament, and the teenager was part of a defence that didn't concede a single goal through the competition.
"He played against us in the Blue Stars tournament and stood out straight away," Butt continued.
"Warren and I watched him a couple of times over there and, when you see a player like him with his physical ability at a young age and ability with a football, it was a no-brainer really.
"We were just lucky with the timing as we were there and he was playing against us and was available to get. Although it was a bit of hard work to do it, we've got him and it's just a no-brainer because he has fantastic potential."
The teenager arrived at Old Trafford just before the close of the summer window, but his arrival was overshadowed by the deadline day deal for Marouane Fellaini.
Butt hopes to have Janko, who signed for a fee in the region of £700,000, available for United's UEFA Youth Champions League fixtures.
