Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Gareth Bale will make his home bow in this weekend's Madrid derby against Atletico.
The £85m signing was a late withdrawal from the starting line-up for the Real's match against Getafe at the Bernabeu on Sunday, suffering a tweaked muscle that was later diagnosed as muscular fatigue.
It has been a stop-start beginning for Bale in Madrid following his transfer from Tottenham. He didn't take part in Spurs' pre-season and despite scoring on his debut, he has appeared to lack match fitness in matches against Villareal and Galatasaray.
Ancelotti will be boosted by the availability of Bale. Real are currently two points behind their Madrid neighbours and most notably Barcelona. They are third in the table and will hope to leap-frog Atletico with a victory on Saturday.
Atletico have gone about their season quietly thus far compared to Barcelona and Real, but will have to shackle a Cristiano Ronaldo who following signing a new contract has scored a hat-trick and a brace in his last two games.
Bale, who has claimed it was his dream to play for Real Madrid, will hope that he finally gets his chance in-front of the Bernabeu crowd. A crunch derby match will provide him with the perfect platform to put his name in the record books for more than just his transfer fee.
