Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes club-record signing Mesut Ozil
has the ability to help the Gunners win their first Premier League
after eight years.

The German International has exhibited awesome performances since
arriving at the Emirates and created chances for the Gunners to be credible
contenders of the Premier League title.

And whilst Ozil made a hat-trick of assists during Arsenal's 3-1
demolition of Stoke City on Sunday, Pires believes the key to
resuscitating Arsenal's lost prowess lies with Ozil.

"It’s possible [for Arsenal to win] because now the young players have
grown up and have more experience. They also have a good mix for
[Arsene] Wenger. If you put Ozil in the middle, I think it’s a very
good mix for Arsenal," Pires told Goal in Lagos on Sunday.

"[Ozil’s] a very good player, he plays for the German national team,
he played for Real Madrid, now he’s playing for Arsenal. He has the
experience. I think the football will be more simple now."

However, the former France International has limited his hope on the Premiership insisting that
the league title is what Arsenal are ripe for.

"Seriously, I think Arsenal have a good potential to win the Premiership. For the Champions League I don’t know but the most important thing is to focus on the Premiership because it is very important for the club and for the fans," he said.

Ozil has become a more creative midfielder since his dealings with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and with his early magical displays, the former Madrid man may do the unbelievable by bringing the League trophy to Arsenal this season.
