Celtic have offered a trial to free agent Nicolas Mezquida, as they consider a move for the Uruguayan striker, reports Sky Sports.
The South American starlet currently finds himself unattached after leaving Centro Atletico Fenix in his homeland during the summer.
Bhoys boss Neil Lennon has handed the 21-year-old an opportunity to impress on trial with the Scottish Premier League giants, after arriving at the club's Lennoxtown training base at the start of the week.
Mezquida has some experience of playing in Europe, having enjoyed two loan spells in Norway with Brann and Lillestrom, and will now hope he has what it takes to earn a contract in the United Kingdom, north of the border.
The former Penarol star could prove to be the answer to Lennon's shortage of attacking options, after the Celtic boss allowed Tony Watt to join Lierse SK on loan on transfer deadline day earlier this month.
