Chelsea are considering a January move for AS Monaco winger Lucas Ocampos, reports the Daily Star.
According to CalcioMercato, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder was linked with a move to west London during the summer, but the Blues' interest ended following the capture of Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala.
However, Jose Mourinho is now ready to renew interest in the Argentine teenager, as he looks to further strengthen his Stamford Bridge squad when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Portuguese tactician is understood to have already made contact with the big-spending Ligue 1 club, to talk about the possibility of the former River Plate star joining Chelsea in 2014.
Ocampos's arrival would raise further doubts over the long-term future of Juan Mata, who seems to have fallen down the first-team pecking order since Mourinho's return to Chelsea.
The two-time Player of the Year has been restricted to a wing role when selected in 2013/14, with Oscar preferred as Chelsea's No.10, and if the club reach agreement with AS Monaco over the transfer of Ocampos, competition for places will increase even further.
Claudio Ranieri is unlikely to want to sell to his former club, though, having selected the South American in all six of Monaco's Ligue 1 matches this season.
