Barcelona target Mata, Torres & Azpilicueta

Chelsea stars Juan Mata, Fernando Torres & Cesar Azpilicueta are wanted by La Liga champions Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish trio featured in the Blues' 2-0 Capital One Cup third round win over Swindon Town on Tuesday night - but all have played peripheral roles at Stamford Bridge since the return of Jose Mourinho.

Torres looked sharp against Swindon - netting a goal and an assist - but currently finds himself behind 32-year-old Samuel Eto'o in the pecking order.

Mata, meanwhile, has lost his place in the starting line-up after failing to impress Mourinho, despite winning the club's Player of the Year award for the last two seasons.

And Branislav Ivanovic has the right-back spot nailed down ahead of Azpilicueta, who has also been linked with a move to Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona have won all six of their matches at the start of the 2013/14 campaign under new manager Gerardo Martino, scoring 22 goals and conceding five.

However, in order to hold off the challenge of Real Madrid, the Catalan giants are reportedly keen to further strengthen their squad in January.
