Gareth Bale is more talented than Neymar, claims the Welsh winger's agent Jonathan Barnett.
The Real Madrid starlet made the switch from Tottenham Hotspur to the Spanish giants on transfer deadline day for a staggering fee of £86million.
Whilst Madrid added Bale to their ranks, La Liga rivals Barcelona bolstered their attacking options with the acquisition of 21-year-old Brazilian forward Neymar.
Neymar scored his first La Liga goal on Tuesday evening but Bale's agent expressed his belief that the 24-year-old Welshman is ahead of the Brazilian in terms of ability.
"Bale has played in the Premier League and has won a lot of trophies. For me, he's better than Neymar," Barnett told La Sexta.
Barnett also admitted that the world record breaking deal on deadline day to bring Bale to the Bernabeu was "tough and problematic".
"The deal never fell apart in the end but it came close on several occasions," Barnett said.
"It wasn't all peace and love in the meetings. Negotiations were tough and problematic.
Bale's representative went on to reveal:
"Tottenham made us a great offer to stay and there was another club that offered much more than Real Madrid."
Manchester United reportedly made a sensational £100million bid to hijack the former Tottenham players move to Real Madrid.
Bernabeu president Florentino Perez confirmed yesterday that another club had attempted to sign the winger in a last minute steal during his negotiations with Madrid.
