Luis Suarez, who has scored 51 times in 96 appearances for Liverpool, is set to return from his 10-game suspension on Wednesday in the Capital One Cup third round tie against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan, who joined from Ajax in January 2011 for £22.7 million, was in scintillating form last season scoring 30 goals in 44 appearances for Liverpool.

Despite the biting, punching, diving and racism claims, Suarez has had some brilliant moments – here is a look at the top five.

5. Norwich vs. Liverpool | 2011 – 2012

At number five is this stunner from Suarez - which completed his first hat-trick in the famous red shirt.

The 26-year-old chipped Paul Ruddy from 40 yards after Liverpool broke out from a corner kick in their own box.

The shot left Ruddy scrambling to get it away but it was just to good for the Norwich keeper.

4. Liverpool vs. Manchester United | 2011 - 2012

There is no better time to announce yourself as a Kop hero than to do something special in a match against Manchester United.

Suarez proved too tricky for United’s defence to handle as he squirmed and wriggled his way past defenders.

The assist was presented perfectly for Dirk Kuyt, who went on to score a hat-trick.

3. Liverpool vs. FC Zenit St Petersburg | 2012 - 2013

The timing of a goal is sometimes the most important aspect – that was the case here for Suarez, although his efforts were not enough to see Liverpool home in this Europa League tie.

The Uruguayan stepped up ahead of Steven Gerrard to score this sensational free kick - which gave the Reds hope of another memorable European comeback.

2. Liverpool vs. Newcastle | 2012 - 2013

Few players in the world could have done what Suarez did against Newcastle to secure a point for the Reds.

Suarez produced a contender for goal of the season with a sublime touch that took him round Newcastle keeper Tim Krul - everyone must have to admit this was a bit of genius.

In at number one is this stunning bit of skill and an unbelievable strike against Stoke in the League Cup.

The Uruguayan slipped the ball through a defender’s legs before charging inside the Stoke penalty area before unleashing a stunning strike.

The shot bent around the Stoke keeper and nestled perfectly into the corner.
