Tottenham fans invent funny new Eriksen v Özil chant

Published 32 Comments

It's the battle of the playmakers that is currently the talk of the town, or at least north London.

Yep, both Mesut Ozil and Christian Eriksen have lit up the Premier League since they signed on the dotted line during the summer transfer window, and both Arsenal and Tottenham can now rightly claim to having one of the most creative players in the league amongst their ranks.

Ozil has hit the ground running following his move to Arsenal from Real Madrid, and picked up three assists in the Gunners win against Stoke at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Eriksen meanwhile helped create both of Spurs' two goals in their win against Norwich at White Hart Lane on his debut earlier this month, and also scored a belter against Tromso in the Europa League.

Of course it is only natural that both sets of fans will claim to have the better of the two playing for them but now the Spurs faithful have taken it to a new level by coming up with an entire song.

Sung to the tune of party classic "agadoo", a group of Spurs fans have been filmed singing along with the lyrics:

"Eriksen, sen, sen; He’s our number 23.

"Eriksen, sen, sen; Came to play for AVB.

"To the left to the right; He’s our midfield Dynamite.

"When he plays for the Lilywhites; He makes Özil look shite.
