Manchester City and Arsenal transfer target Adil Rami has been placed on the transfer list after he was expelled from Valencia's match day squad to face Granada, according to the Daily Express.

Valencia issued a club statement earlier today stating that Rami had been removed from the squad after his outburst against manager Miroslav Djukic. The France international was linked with Manchester City and Arsenal over the summer window, and Super Deporte reports that Valencia have fined the 27-year-old defender and placed him on the transfer list.

Rami got in trouble for speaking out against Djukic earlier this week to radio station Cadena Ser in Spain.

Rami said: "I do not speak with Djukic. He is the head of the boat, but we will see where we are at the end of the season.

“My relationship with him is not good. He does not speak to your face. To me, he said I could be one of the best centre-backs in Europe and he has not shown it.

“We lost people like Albelda, Tino Costa and Soldado, people who talk face to face and now in the dressing room there are only those that don’t tell the truth.”

Super Deporte suggests Djukic held a meeting with Valencia president Salvo and sporting director Braulio, and resolved to never pick the Frenchman again.

The Daily Express notes that Rami agitated for a move earlier this summer, stating that it was his desire to move to a "bigger club" after watching the likes of Soldado - last season's top scorer - leave for the Premier League.

City and Arsenal were both believed to be interested in securing his services - although Valencia were thought to want at least £8m at that point.

That figure may drop now though, with the La Liga club reportedly keen to offload the troublesome centre-back as soon as possible.
