Montenegrin International Stevan Jovetic has the ability and credentials to succeed in the Premier League and could prove to be Manuel Pellegrini's best signing for Manchester City.
Jovetic, who signed for City in a deal worth a reported £22 million, played for Fiorentina in Serie A and was one of the most sought-after players in European football during the summer.
The forward, who is dubbed by many as the 'Montenegrin Messi', represented both Partizan Belgrade, where he made his senior debut, and Fiorentina, playing a total of 145 league games and scoring 47 times.
He was unquestionably La Viola's most creative player and was a fundamental asset in their attacking play.
After a slow start to his life in England, having carried minor injuries, Jovetic seems to be getting used to his new surroundings and is already pushing to get into City's starting XI.
He was praised for his overall performance against Wigan, not only for scoring two goals, but above all for his touch, vision, awareness and understanding of the game.
Often drawing comparisons to the great Roberto Baggio due to a similar playing style, Jovetic is still only 23 and has the potential to become a great at the Etihad Stadium, providing he stays injury-free and is able to adapt to the sheer physicality of the Premier League.
Under Pellegrini's guidance he will have the backing of a world-class manager, who will ensure that Jovetic flourishes at what looks to be a more and more demanding club.
