Arsenal will play Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in the pick of the Capital One Cup last 16 ties, following their dramatic penalty-shootout victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

Manchester United also advanced after beating Liverpool 1-0 at Old Trafford, where they will play Norwich City in the next round.

The draw provided five all-Premier League encounters, while the three remaining Championship sides have all been given the opportunity of a top-flight scalp.

Manchester City will travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur will host Hull City at White Hart Lane, while Sunderland and Southampton will do battle at the Stadium of Light.

And there will be a new name on the trophy on March 2, after holders Swansea City were ousted 3-1 by Birmingham City at St Andrews.

Lee Clark’s men have been rewarded with a home tie against Stoke City, while fellow Midlands side Leicester City will take on Fulham at the King Power Stadium.

The other remaining second-tier side Burnley will face West Ham United at Turf Moor in an all-Claret-and-Blue clash.

Ties will be play in the week commencing October 28.
