Arsenal: Five things to take from West Brom win (1)

After playing out the full 120 minutes of football, Arsenal managed to qualify for the fourth round of the Capital One Cup by beating West Brom on penalties.

A mixture of youth an experience struggled to gain a foothold in a match and Steve Clarke's side will feel hard done by having dominated the tie in extra time.

In the end, it was one piece of quality in the second half that put Arsenal ahead in the form of Thomas Eisfeld.

Although conceding the equaliser soon after, the young Arsenal stars showed their spirit alongside inspirational first teamers Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen to out-bottle their counterparts, winning 4-3 on penalties.
