Manchester United have received a boost to their plans of bringing Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic to Old Trafford, according to the Express.
According to reports, last season's beaten Champions League finalists have targeted Manchester City target Diego Godin as a potential replacement for Subotic, fuelling rumours that they are resigned to letting him leave for the Premier League.
Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be worried about being left undermanned if Manchester United table a bid for Subotic in January, and is subsequently keeping tabs players who could fill the void should he depart.
The news will be welcomed by United fans, who will see speculation of Dortmund's planned pursuit of Godin as evidence that there is a realistic chance they could get Subotic as early as January.
Subotic has played for Dortmund since 2008 the 24-year-old has been capped 36 times for Serbia.
Moyes is looking to bring a new centre-back to United after questions were raised of his squad's defensive capabilities. Their frailties at the back were somewhat exposed during the 4-1 hammering at the hands of bitter rivals Manchester City.
