David Moyes has praised the Manchester United supporters after the Red Devils' 1-0 win over rivals Liverpool in the Capital One Cup third round.

Javier Hernandez scored the only goal of the game to earn Moyes' side a morale-boosting victory following Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Brazil international Ramires is a major doubt for Chelsea's Premier League clash against Tottenham on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was brought on as an early substitute against Swindon Town on Tuesday night and managed to score the Blues' second goal - but was forced off at the break with a hip injury.

Arsene Wenger has praised Nicklas Bendtner after the Danish striker set-up the opening goal of the match against West Brom in the Capital One Cup third round.

The Frenchman has urged Bendtner to continue working hard in order to showcase his quality.

Alan Pardew is not concerned after drawing Manchester City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

The Newcastle United manager was pleased to bag a home draw - and insists he feels "100 per cent at home in the cup"

And finally, Real Madrid secured a controversial 2-1 win over newly-promoted Elche in La Liga on Wednesday night - thanks to some generous refereeing.

Elche equalised in stoppage-time, but Ronaldo scored the winner from the penalty spot after Carlos Sanchez was penalised for a foul on Pepe.

However, replays appeared to show that it was, in fact, the Real Madrid defender who dragged his opponent to the ground - rather than the other way around.

This led Barcelona defender Gerard Pique to mischievously tweet that he was watching a comedy film on the same channel that Real Madrid's match was being televised.
