Serie A outfit Napoli are set to rival Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool for the signing of Barcelona starlet Martin Montoya, according to talkSPORT.

22-year-old right-back Montoya, who has been at the Camp Nou for his entire career to date, is yet to truly establish himself as a first-team regular for the Catalan giants - largely due to the presence of Brazilian stalwart Dani Alves - and speculation concerning his future significantly intensified during the summer transfer window.

With the Spaniard's contract set to expire following the climax of the 2013/14 campaign and no contract talks apparently on the horizon, a number of clubs from across Europe have been linked with a potential cut-price move to acquire Montoya's signature.

Arsene Wenger's Arsenal and Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool have each been persistently linked with a switch for the youngster, but it appears the English top-flight rivals will face significant competition from the continent.

With giants Inter Milan already rumoured to hold an interest in Montoya, talkSPORT believe that Napoli, who now boast a growing group of fellow Spaniards under the management of former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez, are the latest club to join the race to sign the Gava-born talent.
