Europe - 2012

The European Ryder Cup team allowed the US team to open up an almost unassailable 10-4 lead on Saturday evening at Medinah in 2012.

Needing only 4 1/2 more points to reclaim the famous trophy going into Sunday's singles, it looked as though a home victory was a formality.

However, nobody had reckoned with the spirit of Seve. Europe rallied, claiming an incredible 8 1/2 points to win the Ryder Cup by a single point.

Martin Kaymer's putt on the 18th hole saw the trophy return to Europe after a sensational recovery.
