Manchester United 4-4 Everton

The title was Manchester United's to lose.

4-2 up against Everton at Old Trafford with seven minutes to play.

The win would have kept their five point gap over Manchester City intact with just three games left to play.

However, late goals from Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar gave Everton a dramatic point and, crucially, took two away from Sir Alex Ferguson's United.

The next game would see them lose 1-0 to their local and title rivals Manchester City, conceding the top spot with just two games remaining.

They came close to regaining it on the final day, but a pesky Argentinian put any hopes of redemption to rest with a dramatic late goal.
