With five games gone in the Barclay's Premier League, Chelsea sit in fourth place on goal difference with Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal all above them.
Chelsea will not want these teams to be atop the Premier League for too long as one thing a Jose Mourinho team must do is challenge, if not win the league.
With the squad at Chelsea's disposal there is no reason as to why they cannot mount a serious title challenge along with the teams around them.
You see Chelsea as favourites due to the squad they have as well the best manager, Jose Mourinho, but is the league all they should be focusing on? With a home defeat to Basel in the Champions League group stage match day one, they will be quickly looking to beat Steaua Bucharest in Romania to get the three points they easily should have claimed against the Swiss side.
Because Chelsea should be looking to progress to the last 16 stage and then to pose serious threats in Europe to the other top European sides.
And Chelsea always do well in the FA Cup so expect them to be in a final if not a semi-final in that competition. Let's not forget the upcoming Capital One Cup clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium as well.
This year should really be a year to remember for the Blues and their fans with almighty strength in all areas.
Could they crumble under the pressure? No, I don't think so. With a good balance of old and new within the club you can look to the experienced members of the squad such as Frank Lampard to steady the ship if it begins to head south.
One thing Chelsea will be looking to do this season is bring the ship home, and not any old ship... the Premiership, its been long enough without the league title at Stamford Bridge and I believe that it will be Chelsea's main target in the 2013/14 season - to win the Premier League.
