Promising Scottish midfielder Ryan Gauld could be on his way to Madrid, after Real reportedly expressed an interest in the 'mini-Messi'.
One of Scotland’s most promising youngsters, Gauld made his senior debut for Dundee United at the tender age of 16, and is seen as the latest success from the United youth system.
Gauld - who has already allegedly been subject to attention from both Manchester clubs – would fit perfectly into the Real team. Possessing fantastic pace, clever passing and nippy dribbling, Gauld has everything an attacker needs.
Madrid were represented by one of their academy scouts last night, as Gauld came of the bench in United’s 4-1 win against Partick Thistle.
While it must be taken into account that this was the scout’s first look at Gauld, and he was already planning on coming to Scotland, his attendance proves Gauld's growing presence in world football.
While not yet near the quality needed for Real, with the right tutoring, he could become a real star in the next few years.
Not only could he become a regular Real player, but Gauld could become one of the best players on the planet - after all he isn’t branded the 'mini-Messi' for nothing.
Real should definitely stay on the trail of Scotland's most promising talent and if they could secure Gauld's signature for anything under £5 million, then that would be a bargain.
Can Gauld be one of the best?
