Arsenal and Tottenham target Ciprian Marica is set to sign for La Liga outfit Getafe, according to talkSPORT.

Romanian striker Marica, who has earned 64 senior caps for his country, is currently a free agent after leaving Bundesliga side Schalke 04 following the expiration of his contract this summer.

North London foes Arsenal and Spurs had both been strongly linked with a move for the 27-year-old, along with fellow Premier League club West Ham United.

It appeared earlier this week as if the former Stuttgart man was set to snub a move to the English top-flight in order to sign for Rayo Vallecano.

According to talkSPORT, however, Luis García Plaza's men now look set to muscle in on their domestic rivals, with the Madrid club allegedly close to finalising a deal to bring Marica to Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Getafe, who were once managed by current Swansea boss Michael Laudrup, are currently ninth in La Liga after collecting seven points from their opening six matches of the 2013/14 campaign.

They travel to Estadi Cornellà-El Prat to face Espanyol on Sunday.
