Chelsea 8 - 0 Wigan

Football News

Needing a win to ensure they recaptured the Premier League trophy from Manchester United in 2010, Chelsea did not disappoint.

On a final-day display to rival any other, the Blues fired eight past a hapless Wigan as United fans hoping for an upset were duly disappointed.

A Didier Drogba hat-trick, a Nicholas Anelka double, and goals from Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou and Ashley Cole completed the rout.

Chelsea have a storied history of inflicting brutal drubbings. They beat Stoke 7-0 just a month before this game and also recorded an 8-0 victory against Aston Villa in 2012.
