Top five: Premier League thrashings (5)

Tottenham 9 - 1 Wigan

Another thrashing for Wigan, and in the same season as their humiliation against Chelsea. And they didn't get relegated.

In November 2009 Tottenham scored nine to record their highest top-flight win ever. The match finished 9-1, but at half time Spurs were only winning by one after a Peter Crouch strike.

The second half saw Jermain Defoe bag five goals in 36 minutes, one of only four players to acheive such a feat in Premier League history - along with Alan Shearer, Dimitar Berbatov and Andy Cole.
