Top five: Premier League thrashings (6)

Manchester United 9 - 0 Ipswich Town

And it was in this match at Old Trafford against Ipswich in March 1995 that Cole scored five.

Still the biggest thrashing in Premier League history, the two sides went into the game at opposite ends of the table - United in second, Ipswich in 21st and eight points off safety.

A Mark Hughes double and goals from Roy Keane and Paul Ince added to Cole's contribution meant one hell of a beating for Ipswich.

United have inflicted their fair share of thrashings, recording the biggest ever away win over Nottingham Forest in February 1999 - they won 1-8 with four goals from Ole Gunnar Solskjær - as well as beating Arsenal 8-2 in August 2011.
