Kobe Bryant could be replaced by LeBron James at the LA Lakers in 2014, or so speculation hints, but for now the NBA superstars have been picked together in Sports Illustrated's Twitter 100.

SI has released a list of 100 recommended follows in the world of sport, with Kobe and LeBron both chosen among some illustrious and entertaining company, including Floyd Mayweather and Mario Balotelli.

Kobe had was initially reluctant to join Twitter, but has embraced the network since creating an account, and provides followers with insightful and engaging comments about the NBA and issues outside of the sport.

There is, however, some uncertainty about his future with the Lakers as the 35-year-old bids to overcome serious injury, and with his contract set to expire at the end of the next season.

Kobe has been out of action since April after sustaining a ruptured Achilles tendon and will miss all of preseason with the Lakers as he continues his rehabilitation. This has led to suggestions that 2013 could be his last year in Los Angeles.

Lakers chiefs have yet to begin talks with Kobe over a new deal, and could reportedly allow the veteran to join the free agent market as the look to free up some cap space to make high-profile recruits.

LeBron James could also be a free agent at the end of the 2013 season, and has been strongly linked with a move to Lakers if he decides to leave Miami Heat.
