Dong Fangzhuo was the first East Asian player to sign for Manchester United, signing in early 2004.
Lasting for one starting appearance. When loaned out to Royal Antwerp he enjoyed a goal scoring record that would make many a striker happy.
He was a regular among the reserves yet couldn't break into the first-team due to a young Wayne Rooney among others competing for places.
He was eventually sold with mutual consent and today plays for Hunan Billows, a team in the Chinese second division. A real tragedy for a player who very, very nearly made it.
