Galatasaray sack manager Fatih Terim
Turkish giants Galatasaray have called time on Fatih Terim's time at the club
Fatih Terim's time at Galatasaray has once again come to an end. After a successful 2012/13 season winning the Turkish Super Cup and being crowned Champions of the Turkish League for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, the board of directors have decided to get rid of the talented manager.
Terim was appointed Galatasaray manager for the third time in 2011 and during his time in charge he brought in players such as Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder. But in 2013 his roles were also increased when he was chosen to take on the role of Turkey's interim manager as well as Galatasaray manager.
However the club's board of directors all voted together for him to be sacked because they were disappointed with the start made by Galatasaray in the new 2013/14 season, which included a 6-1 thumping to Real Madrid.
Galatasaray's president Unal Aysal also stated that due to Terim rejecting an extended two-year contract, the board had no other choice but to get rid of him and look for a new recruit.
Despite Terim leaving the club for the third time it remains to be seen if this is the last time that he is manager of Galatasaray. However he can now focus all of his attentions on managing Turkey and doing the best he can to see them gain a possible place in next year's World Cup in Brazil.
