Getafe have completed the free transfer signing of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur striker target Ciprian Marica, reports Sky Sports.
The Romania international has been the subject of intense transfer speculation all summer, following his release from Bundesliga outfit Schalke in May.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was credited with an interest in bringing the 27-year-old to the Emirates Stadium, as he sought to provide competition for Olivier Giroud in attack.
Having already completed the free transfer signing of Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre, Arsenal's hopes of adding a second new striker were dashed when Marica opted for a switch to La Liga.
His decision to join Getafe also came as a blow to Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham, with Andre Villas-Boas also keen to increase his attacking options, having already completed a deal for Roberto Soldado from Valencia.
Marica's list of admirers extended further afield than the Premier League, with Serie 'A' duo Inter Milan and Lazio also monitoring the player's situation, as well as his former club Shakhtar Donetsk.
