Manchester United are set to renew their interest in Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva in January, according to Sportmediaset.it.
The 26-year-old Italy international was linked with a move to the reigning Premier League champions during the summer, however a transfer failed to materialise.
Now it has emerged that new Red Devils boss David Moyes will go back to the Serie 'A' club when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year, as he looks to lure the player to Old Trafford.
It's unclear whether Candreva has any desire to leave his homeland, as he continues to play an important role in Vladimir Petković's first-team.
The former Udinese star completed a permanent switch to Stadio Olimpico during the 2012/13 campaign, and Candreva has gone on to establish himself as a fans' favourite with the Aquilotti supporters.
Manchester United's deadline day capture of Marouane Fellaini from Moyes's former club Everton has done little to satisfy an increasingly frustrated set of supporters, who continue to crave a creative midfielder to help strengthen the club's bid to retain the title this season.
Candreva's arrival would go some way to filling the flair void at Old Trafford, but it's by no means certain whether the club will be successful in their pursuit of the Lazio star.
