Kagawa feeling unwanted after West Brom defeat

Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa’s future at Old Trafford is up in the air following his half-time substitution against West Brom, according to the Daily Mail.

The Japanese midfielder, who has been overlooked in a number of games so far this season, was replaced by Red Devils starlet Adnan Januzaj at the interval.

It was originally thought that Kagawa had been substituted due to an injury, however Manchester United manager David Moyes has since admitted he took the 24-year-old off for tactical reasons.

Speaking after United’s 2-1 defeat to West Brom, Moyes said on his decision to substitute Kagawa: "I just decided I wanted to make a change.

"We want Shinji to feel he has an opportunity to show what he can do. His best position is arguably at No 10 playing behind a main striker, but he’s used to playing on the left-hand side with Japan.

“There is a lot of competition here and we want to push each other to improve performances.”

Kagawa has not played a full 90 minutes under Moyes so far, leaving the Japanese star to question his long-term future at the Premier League champions.

Dortmund tried to re-sign their former star during the summer transfer window but were rebuffed due to Manchester United’s reluctance to sell the £17m-rated playmaker.
