Manchester United prepare £6m move for Barcelona star

Published 9 Comments

Manchester United are readying a £6million bid for Barcelona starlet Sergi Roberto, according to the Metro.

Red Devils boss David Moyes is keen to bolster his midfield options after the Premier League champions missed out on Cesc Fabregas, Ander Herrera and Daniele De Rossi during the summer transfer window.

Reports suggest Moyes has turned his attention to Roberto – despite managing to bring in former Everton star Marouane Fellaini on the final day of the transfer window

The former Everton boss also has Tom Cleverley, Anderson and Michael Carrick at his disposal and is set to welcome back fellow Scotsman Darren Fletcher to his first-team squad in the near future.

However Moyes wants to bring in Roberto, who is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford as he looks to get minutes under his belt in order to break into the Spanish national team ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

The 21-year-old, who has 18 months left on his contract, has made just three cameo appearances for Barcelona so far this season.
