The Barclays Premier League is now at its golden age. Over the years we have seen goals of the highest quality from some unforgettable players. With this season just 6 games old, why is it already the best ever Premier League season?

Financial backing:

The Premier League has never been richer! This season, English clubs spent a record £630 million in the summer transfer market, over-taking a previous record of £500 million in 2008. This has been mainly due to a large financial package all Premier League clubs received during last season, as the Premier League signed a deal with TV rights companies to bring a major sum of money into the English game.

Title race:

Never before has the Premier League had so many contenders for the title. With the 'big four' dominance almost extinct, there are now in fact six clubs in which are fighting for the right to be called 'Champions'. Chelsea, Spurs, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City are all in the frame this year. It's been an even start to proceedings this year for these clubs with Arsenal leading by a mear 2 points at the top, so it's ever so close so far.

New talents:

With the extra money in the game, it's never been a better time for English clubs to bring in new, exciting talent. Some examples of this have been retained from the previous campaign with the likes of Juan Mata, Christian Benteke and Michu. But now for this season we are presented with a more wider range of skilled players with the signings of Christian Eriksen, Mesut Ozil, Wilfred Bony, Maarten Stekelenburg, Willian and Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. There has been the introduction of a few future England stars with Andros Townsend and Ross Barkley in particular presenting themselves in the Premier League.

Upsets:

Premier League upsets used to be major shocks- not anymore. So far this campaign we have seen Manchester City losing 3-2 to considerably 'weaker' opposition. We have seen Manchester United losing 2-1 to West Brom, we have seen Chelsea under Mourinho lose 1-0 to Everton. Villa took all three points at Arsenal and Southampton stunned Liverpool by winning. We, this season, have had proof that the Premier League is a lot more tighter than anyone else would've suggested.

Support:

With commercial items, video games and packed stadiums, the Premier League has never had so much support for all of its clubs. The Premier League is now accessible from all corners of the globe, so everyone can watch the best league in the world.
