Manchester City twice led in Saturday’s game against Villa, but the Citizens were pegged back twice and eventually lost out to an Andreas Weimann winner.
Of City’s three away games so far this season, they have lost two – yesterday against Villa and to Cardiff by the same score line a few weeks ago – and drawn 0-0 to Stoke.
City’s away form is in direct contrast to their home form, where they have won all three games they have played, and it is something that must be rectified if they are to sustain their title bid.
Despite already dropping eight points on the road, Pellegrini is convinced his team will be pushing for the title come the tail end of the season.
He said: “I think the Premier League is very regular. I don't know how many teams will be fighting for the title because we are just starting.
"It is a very tough league and the differences between teams are not too much.
"We are just starting working and we hope that we will improve in the future so we can win the games we must win.”
The Chilean added: "We are not thinking about the title at this moment. We are thinking about winning the most amount of matches.
"In the Premier League the differences can be very small."
City’s next game in the Premier League is at home to Everton, whilst they face two tricky away fixtures at West Ham and then Chelsea afterwards; both sides are teams City lost points to on the road last season.
