Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge netted his fifth Premier League goal of the season in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, making him the outright leading scorer in England's top-flight in 2013/14.
The 24-year-old England international has successfully filled the void left by Luis Suarez at Anfield, as the Uruguayan hit-man served a 10-game ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic.
Suarez marked his Premier League return with a brace against the Black Cats, as Sturridge turned provider after breaking the deadlock, to set up both of the South American's goals, and in doing so ended any doubts over the Liverpool duo's ability to play in the same team together.
Early indications suggest that Brendan Rodgers has one of the most feared forward lines in all of England at the moment, with creative playmaker Philippe Coutinho also still to return from injury.
His supply-line should allow Sturridge and Suarez to fill their boots, with 20-goals a realistic target for both players this season.
