In this year’s Premier League, Arsenal, under Arsene Wenger, once again have the chance to become England's top club.
With the addition of German star Mezut Ozil Arsenal seem to be a different team. After the defeat against Aston Villa in day one of this year’s league, the Gunners have managed to completely turn things around.
Up to this point the other traditional contenders of the title like Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all seem to be finding their feet.
Chelsea are still struggling to find their best starting XI, United are trying to adjust after the Sir Alex Ferguson era, City have an enormous roster but only two decent centre backs and will have to constantly solve hard riddles in order show a steady defensive line and Liverpool will always be Liverpool. They are capable for the best but I think that something will come up eventually and stop them in their tracks.
So this is the chance for Wenger and his Gunners. He knows the team really well - Mesut Ozil gives the north London outfit another perspective and generally improves the morale of the whole team.
The only question I have about Wenger is about the position of the forward and the position of the left-back.
Olivier Giroud is the only striker of the squad at the desired level while Nicklas Bendtner can be hit-or-miss and Yaya Sanogo lacks in experience.
The same applies also to the position of the left-back. Kieran Gibbs is the starting left-back and behind him there is only Nacho Monreal, who failed to win the faith of Wenger with his performances.
If the Gunners, in the January transfer window, buy two players in these positions I think that automatically they become the favourites for this year’s Premier League title.
