The Philadelphia 76ers are going to have an absolutely horrific season. General manager Ed Stefanski knows it and all the NBA fans know it.
The organisation is deliberately tanking so they could increase the possibility of getting the number one draft pick in the 2014 draft class, and of course with that pick they'd want to acquire young gun Andrew Wiggins.
The Sixers made a trade which kept everyone in the basketball world guessing. They gave away an all star point guard in Jrue Holiday for a young Nerlens Noel who is injured and may miss the first two months of the season. To sweeten up the deal the Sixers also got a first round pick from the New Orleans Pelicans.
Some may say that the Sixers got ripped off, but if everything goes right for the Sixers and they end up drafting Andrew Wiggins they might be a serious playoff contender. Nerlens Noel, Andrew Wiggins, Micheal Carter-Williams and the first round pick from the Pelicans all led by Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner. Talk about a bright future. The players compliment each other really well. Look out for the Sixers in 2016-17.
All these players led by the head coach, Brett Brown. I'm not saying Brown is the best coach in the NBA, but he has some achievements and his time with the Sixers could elevate him to become a championship coach. He has coached several teams in Australia and has also sat beside Greg Popovic on the San Antonio Spurs bench in 2007.
The Sixers also have some talent off the bench in Spencer Hawes, Tony Wroten and Jason Richardson. It's not the best bench in the NBA but they could be valid contributors to the team, or could even be traded for some good talent, and the first round pick from the Pelicans could be valuable.
The Sixers lineup in 2015 if all goes right will be
PG: Michael Carter-Williams
SG: Evan Turner
SF: Andrew Wiggins
PF: Thaddeus Young
C: Nerlens Noel
I don't know about you, but I think this team could really make an impact in the Playoffs once the get some experience under their belt. Maybe even win a championship is within their grasp.
