Napoli manager Rafa Benitez is set to make a January move for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to TalkSport.

Benitez has already signed one goalkeeper from the Premier League this season - with his former Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina moving to Italy on a season-long loan from Anfield.

But, with Reina's future still unclear, it is reported that the Napoli boss has set his sights on Bosnian international Begovic, as the Spaniard looks to plan for the long-term at the Stadio San Paolo.

Stoke have recently loaned out their young England goalkeeper Jack Butland to Sky Bet Championship side Barnsley.

But, with manager Mark Hughes saying this week that he believes Butland has what it takes to make it at the highest level of English football, Begovic may be allowed to leave in order to give the England youth international a chance to stake his claim for the No.1 spot at the Britannia Stadium.
