Falcao was one of the hottest properties during the summer transfer window, with endless speculation linking the striker to Real Madrid and perhaps a possible move to the Premier League - with rumoured interest from Chelsea and Manchester City.

The 27-year-old joined Monaco for an undisclosed fee but it is rumoured to be €60 million, and has since scored 7 goals in as many games for his new club.

Despite the constant speculation over the summer Falcao insists he stayed away from it, and is only aware of the firm offer from Monaco that bought him to the club.

"I don't know if there was interest from Real Madrid. I decided to stay away from all that and I didn't hear anything," said the Columbian in an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca.

"I only heard about the firm offer, which came from Monaco, nothing more. I'm very pleased and right now I'm loyal to my club."

The striker penned his signature on a five year contract with the Ligue 1 leaders, who are level on points with Paris Saint-German.

Despite rumours of interest from Chelsea and Manchester City in bringing the striker to the Premier League Falcao insists he does not intend to leave.

"I don't intend to leave. I'm happy at Monaco and that’s where I want to play. I don't know what the future holds for me."

The former Atletico Madrid striker also admitted that he was pleased for his former team, as they beat there Madrid neighbours 1-0 at the Bernabeu.

"The team played very well against Real. However, they didn't just play well at the Bernabéu; they've been great in every other game. After two years under Simeone, they've found a certain maturity which is important," said Falcao.

"They don't look to the future, they're only interested in the present and that isn't going to change. They look solid to me and hopefully they will remain so. I'm very pleased for them."
