Manchester United expect Everton left-back Leighton Baines to force through a move in January, reports Goal.com.
David Moyes made a summer move for the England international - along with Marouane Fellaini - but was unable to convince Everton into selling the left-back.
The former Everton boss switched his attention to Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao after his move for Baines was blocked by the Merseyside club. However Coentrao's proposed loan move to Old Trafford fell through at the 11th hour.
Moyes is expected to go back in for a left-back in the January transfer window as he looks to sign a suitable long-term replacement for Patrice Evra, whose current contract runs out at the end of the season.
Baines was said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window - but did not want to hand in a formal transfer request.
The Red Devils will reportedly have to make a bid in excess of £20million if they are to land the 28-year-old full-back.
