For the past two seasons, Arsenal have started the season slowly but managed to gather momentum towards the end of the season just in time to qualify for the Champions League.
After an opening day defeat to Aston Villa, the Gunners have won every match this season and this form has seen them rise to the top of the table.
Their early season victories have come as a result of stability both in management and the keeping of key players. Other title contenders have seen a change in management as Jose Mourinho is in his second tenure as a Chelsea manager, Manuel Pellegrini replaced Roberto Mancini as Manchester city manager and after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes has taken charge of Manchester United.
Losing key players before a new season has often derailed Arsenal’s early season form in the past, but with the availability of all key players plus the signing of the excellent Mesut Ozil, Arsenal seem to be changing the tide and look like title contenders once again.
Lack of depth has also historically been a factor that's negatively impacted on Arsenal's title credentials but they now look a complete team, as every position is adequately covered for.
Pundits have also said this Arsenal team do not have the mental strength to challenge for the league this season but with veteran Gunner Mattieu Flamini and inspirational figure Mikel Arteta in the team, they have experience and the know how to edge out games that in the past have proven difficut to navigate successfully.
With consistency and an injury free squad, Arsenal might not be far from winning the league this season and also going far in the Champions League.
