Neville: ´Our best chance´

Published Add your comment

Gary Neville believes the strength of the current England squad means he has a better chance than ever before of achieving World Cup glory.

The Manchester United defender is 31 and accepts his international career might have expired by the next tournament in 2010 in South Africa. Neville admits the long-standing belief that the current squad would peak in 2006 has to be fulfilled and there will be no excuses if England flop in Germany.

Neville told PA Sport: "This is probably my best chance to win the World Cup and the last chance. I´ve got to be realistic and I´ll be 35 at the time of the next World Cup. There can be no excuses from anybody."
