Reports have surfaced this week that David Moyes will have a heavy endorsement in terms of financial backing in January.

Figures of between £60million and £80million have been banded about in relation to how much the Old Trafford boss will be given by the Glazer family in order to improve his disappointing squad.

However there remains a general problem in the wake of Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, and that's the allure that Manchester United still have for the biggest names in world football.

Whereas in season's gone by most high-profile players would have jumped at the chance to move to the red half of Manchester, now the prospect seems ever so slightly less appealing.
