Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hailed Manchester United star Wayne Rooney as one of the world's most technically gifted footballers - and admitted that he would love the opportunity to team up with the England international.

Swedish striker Ibrahimovic, who currently plays in France for Paris Saint-Germain, believes Rooney possesses a special something which cannot be taught.

"I don't just want to play with just great players I want to play with technically great players - and that is what he is," the enigmatic frontman told reporters. "You can work on the technical side of your game - but it is not something you can be taught.

"You either have it or you don't - and Rooney does."

The 31-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most talented strikers in the world after winning league titles in five different countries.

While Rooney, 27, is considered the best English striker of his generation and one of the best in the world after winning multiple titles with Manchester United.

Rooney is currently the Red Devils' fourth highest goalscorer of all time, and needs 48 goals to surpass the iconic Sir Bobby Charlton as the club's all-time top scorer.
