Juventus targeting Lukaku deal

Published 1 Comments

For a second straight season, Romelu Lukaku has been loaned out from the Chelsea squad despite his impressive tally of 17 goals during the last campaign.

Reports in the Daily Mirror have suggested that Juventus believe Lukaku was disappointed at being unable to prove his name in the Chelsea set up and many Chelsea fans sympathise with the young Belgian.

Chelsea strikers Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o have accounted for zero goals so far this season, while Lukaku has already scored three over on Merseyside for Everton.

His impressive displays over the past two seasons and Chelsea's seeming lack of appreciation for his considerable talent has alerted Juventus, who could look to sign the forward next summer.

After signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United and Carlos Tevez from Manchester City, Lukaku could be the next player from the English Premier League to head to the Italian giants.

Another aspect to look at is that Lukaku has switched his agent to the Italian Mino Raiola, who was a prominent figure in Pogba's move to Juventus.

Raiola is supposed to have a strong connection with Juventus and some other of the top Serie A clubs, so a move to the Italian League would not be out of the question if such an option were to open up.

And with some interest from the Juventus camp , surely Lukaku would be happy to move away with first-team football in the Champions League much more likely.

After he missed the final penalty in the European Super Cup, Jose Mourinho decided that it might be best to let his big Belgian enjoy another year away from the club rather than playing him at Chelsea.

However, Juventus seem to be alert and it could be the Italian giants who swoop in and grab Lukaku as he continues to search for quality first-team football.
