Spanish third division side La Hoya Lorca have caused a media sensation this season, by wearing away kits designed to look like broccoli.

Based in Lorca, southern Spain, La Hoya play their football in the Segunda Division B, and have earned the nickname 'El Broccoli Mecanico' (Clockwork Broccoli) for their excellent performances while wearing the kit.

In fact, while wearing the kit last season, they were promoted from the Spanish Tercera Division for the first time ever.

The reason behind the broccoli-themed outfit is that Murcia - the Spanish region the club is based in - is famous for its export of vegetables. Broccoli is the Murcian region's biggest exports, and responsible for much of the livelihood of the agricultural region.
