Chelsea midfielder Andre Schurrle has been named in the UEFA Team of the Week after an impressive display against Steaua Bucharest.
The 22-year-old was in fine form at the National Stadium in Romania, and whilst he didn’t get on the scoresheet, he produced his best display for the Blues since joining from Bayer Leverkusen.
Signed for £18million, the German international gave Daniel Georgievski a torrid time at the back, playing a key role in both the first and third goals in a 4-0 victory.
Schurrle broke clear down the left flank and found Samuel Eto’o, who bundled the ball to Ramires, who found the net for Chelsea's 19th minute opener.
The second was an own goal, before Schurrle again made his Macedonian opponent look foolish with some fine trickery on the left flank. His cross found Oscar, who setup Ramires to make it 3-0.
Frank Lampard completed the scoring for Jose Mourinho's side, adding the fourth in the closing stages.
Schurrle is the only representative for Chelsea in the team, with former player Arjen Robben also making the cut.
Gregory Van der Wiel, Robert Lewandowski and Mesut Ozil also made the cut after the second round of fixtures.
