Dallas Cowboys ‘sick’ of Manning talk

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Ernie Simms admits he’s ‘sick’ of hearing about Peyton Manning’s incredible start to the NFL season.

The Denver Broncos quarterback has been in stunning form in the opening four games of the season, throwing 16 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in September.

Whilst that puts the former Colt on pace for 64 TD passes in a single campaign, Simms has little time for talk of records, and is more interested in stopping the veteran.

"I'm sick of hearing about Peyton Manning,” he told the Dallas Morning News.

“We just got to go out there and do what we've got to do. You hear it all the time when a guy walks into the locker room: 'Peyton Manning threw for four touchdowns, this and that.' Yeah, he's a great player. You can't take that away from him.

“But at the end of the day, we're all competitors. And me being a competitor, I don't like that. I am ready to play football."

Manning’s imperious displays have guided the Broncos to a perfect 4-0 start, with thoughts already moving to the possibility of this being a perfect season at Mile High Stadium.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, are 2-2 for the season thus far, although they lead the NFC East after the Eagles, Giants and Redskins all failed to impress in the opening weeks.

Denver’s visit to Cowboys Stadium is sure to be a test for John Fox’s side, and it will also give Simms the chance to stop the Manning bandwagon in its tracks.
