Joleon Lescott has insisted that Manchester City stars never doubted their under-fire keeper Joe Hart, reports talkSPORT.
The England No.1 had come in for criticism after a poor display against Bayern Munich in midweek but the shot-stopper put in a solid display as the Citizens beat Everton 3-1 earlier today.
And, after Hart's fine performance today, Lescott told BT Sport: "We never doubted Joe and were never concerned with is form or ability.
"Joe's a strong enough man. He can deal with anything that's put on his shoulders."
The citizens had to come from behind to beat their Merseyside opponents, after Romelu Lukaku - on loan from Chelsea - gave the Toffees the lead at the Etihad.
However, goals from Alvaro Negredo, Sergio Aguero and a Tim Howard own goal secured the win for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
The victory will certainly lift Hart's spirits before he joins up with the England squad next week for two crunch World Cup qualifiers.
The national side take on Montenegro and Poland at Wembley and Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has already confirmed that Hart will remain England's No.1 keeper.
