Alexis Sanchez scored twice and made an assist in a 4-1 victory for Barcelona against Real Valladolid on Saturday night.

This was Barca's eighth victory in eight games in La Liga and helped them restore the five-point gap between themselves and arch-rivals Real Madrid, who had a hard time against Levante but managed to secure a 3-2 win.

At the Nou Camp, Blaugrana had to play without the injured Lionel Messi, but this wasn't a big problem for Barca.

Yet in the 10th minute, Valladolid forward Javi Guerra silenced the Barca fans after heading in a corner.

Four minutes later, Sanchez started his show. The Chilean received the ball from Cristian Tello and scored an incredible goal from around 25 yards.

You can watch Alexis' goal in the video above.

The second half started with the typical passing from Barca and in the 52nd minute, Tello made his second of the night. This time it was for Xavi, who just had to side-foot the ball into the net.

12 minutes later, Neymar sent Alexis clear on the right and the Chilean finished with a precise shot to make it 3-1.

After six minutes, the pair swapped their places and this time Alexis set up Neymar to form the final result.

This was the Catalans' 10th victory in 12 games and they are still unbeaten in all competitions under new manager Gerardo Martino.

After the game Alexis, who was voted Man of the Match, told Gol TV: "You play 10 good games, one average one and one bad one and people, the media, criticise you, but this victory will help me and the team.

"Barca are always obliged to win and by a wide margin."

This will definitely give Alexis the self-confidence he needs and will help Barcelona to prove they are more than just Messi.
